The Alt-Ctrl Game Development Scene & Workshop: Make a game controller

University of Suffolk Waterfront Building

In this talk and workshop, Katy Marshall, one of the builders behind the V&A’s current Videogames Exhibition will talk about the recent surge in popularity behind the alternate control game scene (Alt-Ctrl).

Fans of games and interactive fun break free from the mold of keyboards, mouse and gamepads. Join us in experimenting and designing your own custom controllers, create new ways of playing old games or have a go at modifying classics like DDR.
Materials and Makey Makey’s will be supplied for the workshop.

Cambridge Katy Marshall: Installation Required – In this workshop, we’ll switch out the keyboard for cardboard and household items to build crazy custom controllers using the Makey Makey!
