Do you have to be a student to attend?

No. The event is held at the university but students and non-students are welcome to attend.


How many people do you expect to attend?

We currently have 370 places for the talks and anybody is welcome enjoy the Indie Showcase Area.


Will the talks be technical?

The talks will range from initial ideas to user testing and whilst some will require a basic knowledge of game design and development. However, the talks will not go into advanced technical subjects.


Where is the best place to park?

The University of Suffolk car park offers free parking to Game Anglia visitors and is situated across the road from the Waterfront Building on Ipswich Quay (see map here)


Can developers/studios outside East Anglia showcase their games?

Absolutely, we are eager to have visitors from all over the world attend the show and showcase their latest work.


Do you have to pay to attend as an indie developer?

Not if you just want to showcase. Indie developers can show their game for free, however, their ticket does not include access to the talks or workshops.


Do companies in the ‘business area’ have to be games related?

This can be decided on a case-by-case basis. If your company adds to the overall experience of the event then we will accept all types of business.


Are there any vegetarian options in the lunch menu or anything for those with intolerances?

Lunch can be served at the Cargo Cafe on the ground floor of the Waterfront Building. They provide a selection of cold and warm meals and sandwiches, as well as hot drinks. Vegetarian options are available.


How far is it from the train station?

Ipswich Train Station is a 20-minute walk, a seven-minute cycle and a nine-minute taxi journey. (Map)


Can I bring my child/children with me?

Children and families are welcome to the Indie Showcase Area! If you would like to join the talks or workshops, it is worth noting that everyone needs a ticket and some talks will contain bad language and possible footage of games rated 18.


I bought a ticket but now I can’t attend. Can I have a refund?

Tickets can be transferred to friends and family, however, if you are unable to do this, please contact


Are there any age restrictions for Game Anglia?

Whilst we do not have a specific age restriction, it is worth noting that some talks will contain bad language and possible footage of games rated 18.


What forms of ID do you accept?

For those using a student ticket, we require a picture ID in order to access the talks.


I’m organising a trip for a school, college or university and need an invoice.
